How do I use the ELO Vagabond with Call of Duty: Mobile?Updated 18 minutes ago
Last Updated: June 4, 2026
The ELO Vagabond works with Call of Duty: Mobile on both Android and iOS. The game doesn't auto-detect your controller right out of the box — you'll need to enable it once in the settings before your first match. This guide walks you through the full setup.
Before You Start
Call of Duty: Mobile has controller support built in, but it's off by default. You only need to go through this setup once. After that, connecting the Vagabond before launching the game is all it takes.
💡 When you play with a controller, CODM places you in controller-specific matchmaking lobbies. Queue times may be slightly longer during off-peak hours, but you'll be matched against other controller players for a fair experience.
Setup
Step 1: Connect the Vagabond
Plug the Vagabond into your phone's USB-C port. You can also connect while the game is already open — the game will detect it either way.
Step 2: Open Settings in CODM
Launch Call of Duty: Mobile. On the main screen, tap the Gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings.
Step 3: Enable controller support
- Tap the Controller tab
- Select Settings
- Tap Enable Controller Support
Your Vagabond is now active and ready to use in-game.
Step 4: Configure your controls per game mode
Inside the Controller menu, you can set and adjust your button layout separately for each mode:
- Multiplayer
- Battle Royale
- Zombies
Set each one to match your playstyle before jumping in.
Sensitivity Tips
Sensitivity is personal, but here's a starting point for controller play:
- Multiplayer: Start with a medium sensitivity (around 50–60) and adjust up as you get comfortable
- Battle Royale: Slightly higher sensitivity helps with quick target acquisition across larger maps
- Use the ELO Unleashed App for advanced button remapping and trigger curve adjustments beyond what CODM offers natively
Known Limitations
- Menu navigation requires touchscreen. The controller only works during active gameplay. Loadout screens, lobby menus, and the home screen still require touch input.
- Button mapping is limited. CODM lets you adjust sensitivity per mode, but full button remapping is not available natively in-game. Use the ELO Unleashed App for deeper customization.
Troubleshooting
Controller not being detected
- Make sure the Vagabond is firmly connected to the USB-C port
- Confirm Enable Controller Support is turned on in Settings → Controller → Settings
- Restart the game with the controller already connected
Controller disconnects mid-game
- This can happen if your device screen locks or goes idle. Disable auto-lock or screen timeout while playing
Controls feel off or unresponsive
- Check for a CODM game update — patches often fix input issues
- Reset your controller settings to default inside the Controller menu and reconfigure from scratch
